Step 1: Simultaneous Preliminary Review for Domestic and International Registration
During the new brand planning stage, assess the trademark’s registration possibilities both domestically and internationally.
Make full use of free search platforms and obtain expert opinions from local representatives for key countries regarding your final candidates.
If a non-exclusive trademark is selected, determine how to protect it and prepare a strategy in advance.
Step 2: File Domestic Application and Apply for Accelerated Examination Before Public Release
File a domestic trademark application before any public product launch and simultaneously apply for accelerated examination.
For countries that are not members of the Madrid Agreement, proceed with individual trademark applications without delay, along with the domestic application.
Step 3: Apply for International Trademark Registration with a Priority Claim After Domestic Application is Published
Once the domestic application passes examination and is published (or registered), apply for international trademark registration under the Madrid System with a priority claim.
After that, each designated country will conduct its own examination process and grant registration one by one.
